I started drawing this as a piece for my university application. I got about as far down as their shoulders and quit. I tend to do that a lot still. 5 years and a fine art degree later I found the sketch and reminiscently gave the brothers their full form. I could remember how I felt when I started the drawing: wanting to capture the roughness of the reality of them without losing their cartoonish beginnings.Now about 4 years has past since I've seen the sketch, and stumbling into it last week brought back all those feeling. I had to take it a bit further. I had a lot of trouble deciding on how to portray Luigi's outfit colours. The traditional white and green wasn't working for me and it didn't seem right to leave him in his blue jeans. So here it is, in it's latest incarnation. I hope you enjoy!
